"Terrible 2's" or Transition?

"No momma, no momma" seems to be the latest and most popular phrase in our household these days...followed by a swing of the hand, a kick of the leg, or a flying toy. I have heard much talk about the "Terrible 2's", but I can't help wonder if that is what's happening?! My precious little J seems to be lost in the transition of wanting to gain his own independence, yet still be the baby, explore all his options, yet not let momma out of sight. It doesn't help with the transition that momma is walking around with a watermelon sized belly which is referred to as "baby brother"! It feels like we are in a constant battle between J pushing buttons and us determining the appropriate response...react, ignore, redirect, distract, etc. It's a constant test of our endurance and patience, and his interpretation of that. We learn as we go, right??

Newbie

I attempted to blog this summer, and fell short after one post! So, here we go again! Patience please:).

A little bit about me, I am a mommy of a 21 month old little boy (J), and am 27 weeks along...with another boy! I am excited and a little nervous too. I have been married for 3 years to the most amazing man, and I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Being a working mother is definitely trying, but it seems that modern times see this much more often. We are blessed to have a wonderful baby-sitter who loves our little J like a grandma. Sometimes it feels like being with momma alone is just too boring, and J needs his little friends at his baby-sitters! Luckily my profession allows for a flexible schedule and we do get our quality time together.

I come from a big family, from which I have gained a wide variety of opinions, beliefs, and a straight forward way of thinking. Look forward to more about mommyhood, the joy of raising kids, dealing with family and working on having a healthy marriage!
